The Nurit 8000 is an all-in-one solution for merchants requiring a wireless PCI compliant credit card terminal with a rechargeable battery. This device has excellent coverage and utilizes ATT&T/Cingular's GPRS network. Mobile merchants will make good use of this compact and lightweight machine with a small footprint and speedy 32-bit ARM RISC microprocessor that features an internal PIN pad allowing the user to accept customer PIN-based debit card transactions as well as major credit card transactions via the dual track bi-directional magnetic card reader.
Operating on a wireless GPRS network, the Nurit 8000 has the best coverage at a wide variety of locations, initiates the fastest transactions, and provides enhanced customer satisfaction and quick customer throughput. Customers sign the signature-capturing screen with a stylus. Their signature conveniently prints out on the receipt via the high-speed integrated thermal printer printing at 15 lines per second. The thermal printer features an easy-open, easy-load top and uses large 57 mm (2.35 in) paper.
For further convenience and professionalism, the Nurit 8000 incorporates Store and Forward technology. If you find that coverage is poor, simply swipe the debit or credit cards and, once you have regained coverage, print the receipts and process the transactions later. No sales opportunity time is lost for the customer or the merchant. Handy programmable quick keys on the 18-button keypad offer quick start-up times.
In early 2008 the Nurit 8000 was discontinued and has been replaced with the new Nurit 8020 wireless credit card terminal. However, a new compact design and the easy-to-read ergonomically designed white backlit keypad are basically the only difference between the new Nurit 8020 and the current Nurit 8000.
