The VeriFone CR600 check reader provides convenience for a merchant’s check-paying customer while protecting the merchant from bad check losses. One compact unit combines universal connectivity, remote downloading, and full programmability. The CR600’s reliability, with accurate first-pass reads, and its ease of use, with training time taking just a few minutes, make the device an indispensable addition for a merchant’s current VeriFone payment system.

The VeriFone CR600 check reader can do high-read-rate capture of MICR data, perform self-diagnostics and correctly identify problems with a button push, do accurate reads on the first pass even with crumpled or folded checks, do remote downloading (full or partial) while remaining on-site, thus cutting back on down time and technical support costs, all while taking up a minimum of space and requiring fewer cable connections with its pass-through port.

Data output formats to the host from the CR600 are user-definable, thus can be tailored for whatever check or guarantee service the merchant uses or will use in the future. Additionally, the VeriFone CR600 is configurable either with remote downloads through high-function terminals from VeriFone or ECRs (Electronic Cash Registers) or locally, using checks which are specially formatted.
